Continuing a Legacy

Luton Town has produced the finest straw Hats for over 200 years. Here at Anderson Hatters we are proud to continue this legacy for future generations to enjoy.

All of our equipment has been collected from closed and remaining UK hat factory's and lovingly restored back to service. with the majority of our equipment being from the early 1900s. While they would make great museum pieces these antique machines see use every day to make the perfect British hats.

All of our hats are blocked, machined and trimmed at our Factory in Luton Bedfordshire using traditional techniques and machines. We're proud to provide the best of British headwear all made in the UK.

Anderson Hatters was founded by James Anderson after realising that His hometown had stopped producing the English Boater. a Hat invented by the local hat trade. He set out acquiring antique hat manufacturing equipment from the local trade to restore Luton to the Home of British hat production. Through the kind donation of equipment by a local former boater factory we were able to start our journey from a single blocking machine in a humble garden shed.
