named after the plait dealer and hat manufacturer Henry Durler who operated several hat manufacturing businesses in Luton.

made from a very fine soft pedal straw plait. also known as Milan straw braid. Blocked, trimmed and finished in England using traditional British hat making machines and techniques.

pedal straw hats were first sewn by machine in my hometown of Luton, Bedfordshire. It is with this inspiration that I chose to make my first collection of summer headwear from traditional pedal straw braid instead of the more popular panama or woven straws. These lovely braid hats make a great addition to the closet of any gentleman or lady and supports traditional british trade.
